Bogmalo

Bogmalo is one of the smallest but most attractive and beautiful beaches in Goa.

Situated in a small bay, Bogmalo is a crescent shaped beach surrounded by lush green hills on three sides. Located centrally between North and South Goa, Bogmalo allows easy access to all parts of Goa and is 10 min drive from Dabolim Airport.

With the North of the Beach being peaceful and green and the South being busier providing access to the beach, Bogmalo beach sports a perfect blend of serenity and commercialization making it ideal for a peaceful time with family and friends.

The sands of Bogmalo are grainy and golden and water is relatively safer for swimming, though it’s advisable to go only waist-deep as the surf can be a bit dodgy. Lifeguard is present but only in designated swimming area so caution is required.

Unlike other beaches, there are no beach shacks on Bogmalo beach. However there are aplenty permanent structures offering a range of accommodation and places to eat.

Inclusion of a short trip to Bogmalo in your Goa itinerary is recommended. It’s a good idea to stay the night here if you have an early morning flight from Dabolim the next day.

Prime Attraction of Bogmalo

Main attraction of Bogmalo beach is Diving.

The beach is home to a small Diving School, Goa Diving. Run by a Scotsman Willie Downey, the school offers casual diving as well as basic and advanced diving courses. At the end of the 3-5 day course one gets a certificate that entitles him to dive anywhere in the world.
