Palolem Beach
Palolem is one of the most beautiful beaches of Goa. Located in Canacona, the southernmost town of Goa, Palolem beach with its white sands stretches between two magnificent headlands with rocks jutting out into the sea. Palolem used to be one of the quietest beaches in Goa, till as recently as 1989, when the first resort came up here. And it has never looked back since then!
Every season, myriads of bamboo-hut resorts and beach shacks are erected along the beach allowing tourists to stay right on the sand, just a few metres from the Arabian Sea.
Palolem beach is famous for its beach-hut accommodations. However, it also has a range of guest houses, hotels, resorts and good restaurants. The beach huts range from very basic to luxurious huts with all the amenities. The prices of accommodation vary throughout the year and peak around Christmas and New Year.
Palolem beach is one of the safest beaches for swimming in Goa. There is a lifeguard, however it is recommended to stick to the designated swimming area, especially if one is planning to go more than waist-deep.
Visit Palolem, explore little islands around it and the nearby Agonda beach... and you are bound to come again!
