Located on the confluence of river Lidder and streams originating from Sheshnag Lake, Pahalgam offers breathtaking views of the majestic mountains and the river rushing through the rocks.

Every year, during Amarnath Yatra (End of June to early August) Pahalgam serves as a basecamp for pilgrims proceeding to the shrine of Lord Shiva in Amarnath. During this period the town is bustling with pilgrims and it’s a good idea to plan a trip either before or after the Amarnath Yatra.
In winters, Pahalgam receives heavy snowfall and tempts the visitors into snow sports like sledging and tobogganing.
