Hemkund Sahib Yatra
Hemkund Sahib is accessible by foot or ponies from Gobindghat. Gobindghat is a small town located on Rishikesh-Badrinath highway and is well-connected by motor able roads.
For the convenience of the pilgrims, there is an enormous parking lot at Gobindghat where both public and private vehicles can be parked. For those, planning to take rest before the trek, plenty and variety of accommodation is available at Gobindghat.
11.6 km from Gobindghat is Gobind Dham or Ghangharia, the last village or human habitation centre on way to Hemkund Sahib.
A range of hotels is available for stay at Ghangharia. There is a huge camping ground where tents are installed to meet the accommodation needs. Blankets and sleeping bags are available on rent from the shops around.
A huge Gurudwara standing tall is a fallback option for staying. It provides free accommodation and blanket to the pilgrims.
