Nicco Park

Nicco Park, Kolkata, is an amusement and water park in Salt Lake City, Kolkata.

Nicco Park is spread over 40 acres and is home to about 35 amusement rides, that include Magic Carpet, Water Chute, Flying Saucer, Crazy Tea Party Ride, Family Carousel, Eiffel Tower, Giant Cyclone, River Caves, Pirate Ship and many more.

Nicco Park also has a water park, Wet-O-Wild, where rain dances are held on a regular basis.

Nicco Park is also home to a bowling alley alongwith a restaurant and bar. Nicco Par was developed in 1991 as a joint venture between NICCO and WBTDC to create recreation opportunities for the Kolkata residents as well as tourists.

Nicco Park has received many awards and its achievement also lies in the fact that it was the first amusement park in India to be able to obtain ISO 9001(QMS), ISO 14001(EMS) and OSHAS 18000 (SMS) certifications.

Also, the River Caves at Nicco Park were declared as the most innovative and popular ride of 2010.

Nicco park also houses a grand Food park where one can pick from any of North Indian, Bengali, South Indian and Chinese cuisines.

Also, one can buy souvenirs from Sheroo Bazaar or Souvenir Shop at Wet-O-Wild.

 

 

Aquatica

Aquatica is a water theme park in Kochpukur, Rajarhat in Kolkata, India. Spread over 17 acres, Aquatica is the largest water park in Kolkata and eastern India.

Lanched in year 2000, Aquatica came as a relief, for the residents of Kolkata as well as tourists, from the heat of this hot and humid city.

Aquatica has a number of water rides. However the most popular feature of Aquatica is the artificial Water Waves which give one the feel of a river.

Amongst the rides, Aquatica has Lazy River where the water flows at low pressure and gives serene beach like feel.

The Multi-lane surfer is a thrilling multi slide ride where one slides down from a tall height.

Similar to Multi Lane Surfer is the Malibu Body Slide, the difference between the two being that here one has to lie down flat on the back to enjoy this ride.

Black hole is another thrilling ride. This is a tunnel like slide which is absolutely dark on the inside and one passes through the black hole at a fast pace lying on the back.

One of the best experiences in Aquatica is that of Courtrallam Falls where water falls from about 53 feet high artificial falls.

 

 

Millenium Park

Millenium Park is a private park in heart of the City of Joy, Kolkata. Located on the East bank of river Hooghly, Millenium Park is a 2.5 Km long park along this holy River.

Millenium Park was built by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority on the land under Kolkata Port trust and was inaugurated on 1st Jan 2000.

With a flowing river in the backdrop and a number of green trees, Millenium Park Kolkata makes a picturesque and serene environment.

Millenium Park Kolkata has a long pathway for walk, benches for those who want to simply sit and enjoy the ambient surroundings and amusement rides for children.

Millenium Park also has a jetty from where one can embark on about 2-3.5 hours cruise and return.

The ships in use for the cruises are MV Ahalya and MV Millenium.

 

Cruise along the Hooghly

Breakfast Cruise (09.00 AM to 11.15 AM)

Going on a Breakfast cruise has its own charm as it takes you along all 54 ghats along the Hooghly River, few of which are bathing ghats, a few are ceremonious ghats, a few are ferry ghats connecting the two banks and others where people just come to sit by and relax along the river.

The ship sails from under the world famous Howrah Bridge towards Belur Math.

 

Lunch Cruise (12.00 PM to 03.15 PM)

Lunch Cruise takes you to the Botanical Gardens, home to famous big old banyan tree. Here one can disembark to have a view of the rich and lush flora.

 

Evening Cruise (03.30 PM to 06.45 PM)

The cruise sails to Belur Math for the ‘Sandhya Arti’.

 

Dinner Cruise (07.30 PM to 10.15 PM)

One can go for a dinner cruise and relax on board with music in the background and scenic views around.
