Darjeeling Zoo
Darjeeling zoo is located adjacent to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and both are covered best at the same time.
Officially known as Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Darjeeling Zoo is a high altitude wildlife park and is home to a number of high-altitude animals like Red Pandas, Snow leopards, black bears etc. and many colourful Himalayan birds.
Darjeeling zoo is the only zoo in the country where conservation and captive breeding programmes of highly endangered animals, like Red Pandas, Snow Leopards and Tibetan wolves etc., are run.
Note: The Zoo is closed on Thursday.
